Three recipients of the SAH Research Grant presented an update on their research activities: Daofen Chen from PT Education, Michael Czervinske from Respiratory Therapy, and Catana Brown from OT Education. The presentations were attended by approximately 30 people. The Dean's office provided dessert. The feedback was that this was a success and should be done at least annually.
The committee completed the policies and procedures for the SAH Research Committee. These have been posted on the web.
The Research Committee has proposed that the Associate Dean of Research of the SAH be a standing member of the SAH Research Committee.
In conjunction with the Faculty Assembly Research Committee, the SAH Research Committee has gathered information from SAH faculty about successful research collaborations between the Medical Center and the Lawrence campus.
The Dean's office is again funding SAH research grants for a total of $10,000. The deadline for the SAH grant applications was March 31, 2000. We have received 4 applications.
