The 8th Annual Jubilee:  Conference on Practice will be kicked off with a “Sensational Evening” Thursday, September 25, 2008,, at the historical residence of Winnie Dunn, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA, Professor and Chair of KU's Occupational Therapy Education program and author of Living Sensationally: Understanding Your Senses.  So please join us for a “Sensational Evening”!  Registration ($50) includes a signed copy of her book, appetizers, refreshments, getting a peek at Winnie’s historic home & all the insights available throughout the stimulating evening of conversation.

Living Sensationally:  Understanding Your Senses:  Dunn (2008) Jessica Kingsley Publishers. ISBN: 97801084310-81312 explains how everyone can have a sensational life no matter how sensory experiences affect them.

The informative sensational sessions continue on Friday, September 26, 2008, when both local and national speakers will lead presentations on occupational therapy topics such as leadership, evidence based practice, and universal design.  This continuing education event brings together specialists in these areas to the Nelson-Atkins Museum, which is located in the heart of the Kansas City Plaza area in Kansas City, Missouri. This venue provides a host of further weekend activities, as well as convenient accommodations, attractions, shopping, and restaurants.   

History
The Jubilee: Conference on Practice started in 2000 and through the years has had a plethora of renowned local and national speakers such as Winne Dunn, PHD, OTR/L, FAOTA, Georgia DeGangi, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA, Carolyn Baum, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA, Mary Law, PhD., Penny Moyers, Ed.D., Tara C. Alexander, OTR/L, CPC, Lorie G. Richards, PhD., OTR/L, Ginny Stoffel, MS, OTR/L, BCMH, FAOTA and a host of others. This event continues to be successful, in great part to Charles A. Spitz, AIA, NCARB and Peggy Hundley Spitz, OTR in establishing the B.T. & Virginia Hundley Endowment, which provides continuing education opportunities to support professional growth of occupational therapists.  Both were specially honored at the 2006 Jubilee for their continued support.
