Committee Policy/Procedures

I. Membership

  1. Three elected members.  Each member has a vote.
  2. Chairs of the SAH standing committees.  Each member has a vote.
  3. Assistant Dean of SAH shall be a non-voting member

II. Selection of the Chairperson

  1. Shall be a tenured faculty member.
  2. Shall be an elected member of the committee.
  3. Shall be approved by a majority of the committee members

III. Selection of the Secretary

  1. Shall be an elected member of the committee.
  2. Shall be approved by a majority of the committee members

IV. Functions of the Chairperson

  1. To be the representative to the Steering Committee of the Faculty Assembly.
  2. To preside at meetings of the SAH faculty.
  3. To be the representative of the SAH faculty to the SAH Administrative Council.
  4. To call, prepare agendas for, and conduct meetings of the Steering Committee.
  5. To make two reports per year to the SAH Faculty.
  6. To be knowledgeable concerning the SAH Bylaws.

V.  Functions of the Secretary

  1. To prepare minutes of Steering Committee meetings.
  2. To prepare minutes of SAH Faculty meetings.  Minutes shall be made available to all members of the Faculty within one week after the meeting.   To provide a way for corrections of the minutes to be made.
  3. To be knowledgeable concerning the SAH By-laws.
  4. To reserve rooms for meetings.
  5. To prepare a ballot on any issues to be voted on by the SAH faculty.
